Rajkumar Hirani’s biopic on his close friend and frequent collaborator Sanjay Dutt releases in theatres. Starring Ranbir Kapoor in the titular role, the film features an ensemble that includes Manisha Koirala, Dia Mirza, Paresh Rawal, Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, and Vicky Kaushal, all of whom are playing various characters loosely-based on real-life people from Dutt’s controversial life.
Sanju is an entertaining film, and has all the elements of a blockbuster — but one wishes the honesty and nuance went beyond just the performances. After watching Sanjay Dutt’s hagiography (No it’s not just a biography) ‘Sanju’, Rajkumar Hirani Should Work On These Two Films After SANJU.
The first one is on Rahul Gandhi. It will be called ‘Rahu’. Because that is what he has been for his party anyway. Story of a poor guy who had to join politics under sheer pressure of his family name, chose country over getting married and how media keeps twisting his statements to make him look dumb (sometimes true actually).
The second one is on Salman Khan. It will be called ‘Sallu’. Fardeen Khan or Tusshar Kapoor will play the lead because it is strictly necessary as per the script that the protagonist shouldn’t know much acting. The movie will start with his driver running over few people sleeping on the footpath, and a blackbuck and a chinkara committing suicide but blaming Sallu in their suicide note.
